Welcome Bendy Babe!

If you’ve ever been told “just go get stronger” and felt like you were constantly stuck in a cycle of workout, feel worse, rest, repeat… Well, that’s exactly why I built this space.

Because if you’re here, my guess is that:

  • You’re hypermobile (maybe hEDS, HSD, or just really “bendy”)

  • You’ve been exercising but haven’t actually felt any stronger or better overall

  • You’re burnt out on trying to piece together social media tips and advice

  • Maybe you’ve started avoiding certain day-to-day movements or exercises because they make you feel unsure

And want to hear an honest confession? I completely understand. Because I’ve been there too.

Who Am I?

My name is Eva Melchiorre, and I’ve been a Personal Trainer for 11 years, owned a brick-and-mortar Pilates studio, and spent the last 7 years developing techniques for and working with hypermobile individuals across the spectrum.

But my connection to this work is deeply personal.

What most people don’t understand about living in a hypermobile body (or in my case, navigating life with Hypermobility Spectrum Disorder) is that, for many of us, there isn’t one dramatic moment that changes the trajectory of our health  It’s a culmination of experiences.

Sitting on a stranger’s front steps because my lower back hurt too much to complete the walk home...

Going to the gym to “get stronger” only to walk away feeling even more exhausted and disconnected...

Taking a step across a flat, paved floor that left me using a cane for three months.

These experiences were frustrating, confusing, and at times, honestly pretty scary. But they also shaped the way I approached movement and exercise today. They pushed me to look beyond a single method or modality and start exploring what actually helps hypermobile bodies feel stronger, more supported, and more confident. And that exploration is actually what led me to become what I jokingly call a “fitness generalist.”

There were times when I was a die-hard weightlifter, powerlifter, Pilates acolyte, yogi, CrossFitter... you name it, I probably did it. But that breadth of experience is what ultimately redefined my philosophy around movement and hypermobility: there isn’t one perfect type of exercise for us, Bendy Babes. Movement is a tool. Different types of movement give us different tools, and the goal is to learn what best supports and strengthens our hypermobile bodies.

The Approach

Learn the principles and strategies that help transform movement fear and overwhelm into strength and confidence.

Strategy Based Exercise

The HFW approach is based on a set of movement strategies - start Small, Slow, and Stable. Not as a set of restrictions, but rather to create a framework that most of us have never experienced. Rather than throwing you into another fast-paced, dynamic exercise class, we’ll take the time to understand how different types of feedback, pacing, and ranges can support our bendy bodies.

Adaptability

Traditional fitness structures don’t often incorporate space for days when our bendy bodies aren’t cooperating. Our approach encourages you to check in with your body repeatedly, get really honest about your capacity, and to honor your needs without judgement.

Curiosity and Compassion

This is one of the biggest mindset shifts that I will encourage throughout the use of this membership. Let’s get curious! Rather than looking at our workouts as just another thing we “power through" , let’s start to notice how we feel before, after, throughout the week following so we can use that information to inform us.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will I need props like yoga blocks or resistance bands?

Many classes will incorporate props to help you explore different movement strategies, including tools like resistance bands, dumbbells, yoga blocks, and small stability balls.

I’ll always do my best to provide household alternatives when possible - like using water bottles instead of dumbbells or pillows instead of certain props - so you can participate with what you have available.

For the best experience, I recommend having at least:

  • A set of long, flat resistance bands

  • A pair of light-to-moderate dumbbells

  • A yoga block or small stability ball

These tools are not required for every workout, but they can help you get the most out of the library.

Is this membership good for beginners?

This membership is designed for people who are returning to exercise, rebuilding their foundation, or looking for a more supportive approach after feeling stuck with traditional fitness.

You do not need to be an advanced exerciser to join. Many members may consider themselves beginners because they are starting over, rebuilding confidence, or learning a new way to move with their bodies.

However, this membership is not designed for individuals who are completely new to exercise and need step-by-step instruction on basic movement skills before beginning a workout program.

Is this a weightlifting focused program?

While many classes may incorporate props and external resistance - including dumbbells, resistance bands, and other tools - this is not a traditional, structured weightlifting program.

The focus of this membership is building foundational strength through Pilates-inspired and functional movement classes using adaptable strategies designed for hypermobile bodies.

If you are looking for a gym-based, barbell-focused, or performance-oriented strength program, this membership is likely not the right fit.

Does this membership include guidance for co-occurring conditions like POTS or MCAS?

While some movement strategies used within the membership may overlap with approaches that are also used by people navigating co-occurring conditions, at this time, the membership does not include specialized exercise guidance designed for specific co-occurring conditions such as POTS, MCAS, or other related conditions.

As I continue to grow and learn, I’m committed to expanding our educational resources and creating content that better supports the many experiences within the hypermobility community. Join our newsletter to stay updated as new programs, resources, and educational content are added.

Is this physical therapy?

No. Hypermobile Friendly Workouts is an educational fitness membership designed to help you build strength, confidence, and consistency with exercise.

This membership is not a replacement for physical therapy, medical care, or individualized guidance from a healthcare professional. If you are currently managing an injury, medical condition, or new symptoms, please consult your healthcare provider before beginning a new exercise program.

Is every class different?

Yes. Every class is unique, though you'll likely recognize some exercises across different workouts.

This is by design.

Repetition is an important part of building strength and consistency. Rather than constantly introducing brand-new exercises, you'll revisit key movements throughout the library so you can become more confident with them, notice your progress, and continue building a strong foundation.

The workouts and classes in this menmbership are designed to help you build strength, stability, coordination, and movement confidence through controlled, intentional exercise. The intensity of each session will vary, and you’ll find workouts ranging from gentle mobility-focused sessions to more challenging strength-based workouts.

While some sessions may feel physically demanding, these workouts are not designed around the traditional “push harder, do more” approach to fitness. Instead, we focus on helping you build capacity in a way that respects your body and allows you to adjust variables like load, tempo, range of motion, and support as needed.

A workout does not have to leave you exhausted to be effective. Our goal is to help you create a sustainable relationship with movement where you can build strength without needing to push through pain or chase intensity for the sake of intensity.
